When we walk and bike, we are usually on our way to school, or Alewife, or the bus stop, or businesses in East Arlington like Vincent's barbershop and the Capitol Theater.
When we drive, our car most commonly takes us to activities or shopping elsewhere, but we still want the street to be designed as well as possible so we can get there in a reasonable time.
I listened to all the questions that people have asked at public meetings and, in the end, I was persuaded that the Mass Ave plans have taken all these uses into account in a balanced way.
